If this is the same Mike Smith from Hampton who oversees the VHSCA All-Star games, then he is a local boy. He's from the Stickleyville area of Lee County.

Yep.
He should've came back home.
He sure is a nice fellow. I've had several conversations with him over the years. His Dad and Mom live in my service area, so I see him when he's over for an occasional visit.

Not the same Mike Smith. The Mike Smith that is orignal from Lee County is the coach at VA. High. His father is Larry Smith, who's the former coach at Morristown East.
Wrong. Terry Smith is the coach at VHS, who is Mikes nephew if I am not mistaken. Maybe cousin.

Larry Smith used to coach at Abingdon and then moved up the road. Terry is Larry's son.

Sorry, but I knew Mike was directing the VHSCA All-Star games up at Hampton, as I spoke with him on many occasions. He knew I was the ringleader behind what he called "The greatest show of fan support he'd ever seen" when Jason Bishop played in the All-Star game up there in 92 or 93. He still mentions it every time I see him. I just didn't know he was coaching football there at Hampton.
